A Whirlwind Christmas

4 states in 2 weeks. 4 airplane rides at approximately 2 hours each. 3 airports. $144.00 in checked baggage fees. 6 hours worth of delays. From 11 degrees cold to 75 degrees hot. 10,296 frequent flyer miles earned. $70.00 in parking fees. And 1 Merry Christmas!

We just returned from our holiday travels. We first started out in California with my family. We celebrated Christmas a bit early there, and for some reason I don't have any pictures to show for it. Then we had a 36 hour layover here in Denver. Yup. Just enough time to do laundry, check the mail, pay some bills, unpack the suitcase, repack the suitcase and then off again. We then went to Arkansas to visit Matt's family. We flew into Memphis (that would be where the 4 states comes in) but drove into Arkansas. We celebrated Christmas day there with tons of family. Here is Madilyn opening presents. She enjoyed the wrapping paper, ribbons and bows more then the toys.

We were able to spend a few days just hanging out with Matt's parents. They have 4 cats that both Michael and Madilyn liked very much. I wanted to take them home but Matt said no.

We enjoyed all the Christmas lights that Matt's Dad put up as well as "ToyLand" which was in the backyard. Here are Matt's parents with the kids.

Michael got a special trip to the farm and got to see all the tractors. Unfortunately, the tractor keys were in the other truck so he couldn't take a ride.

Last, but not least we got to take a trip to Mack's. This would be my favorite part about Arkansas. It's a store a lot like the Bass Pro Shop, but specifically tailored to duck hunters. Since Stuttgart, Arkansas is the Duck Hunting capital of the world and Mack's is located there. Stuttgart would also be where Matt's parents live. Check out their website. www.mackspw.com. There is a BIG GIANT Duck in front of the store. Many people take their picture in front of it, including us. Pay no attention to my bad hair day. Due to the humidity my hair wasn't cooperating very well.
So now we are home. I have TONS of laundry to do. There are toys EVERYWHERE, and I've caught a cold. But everyone is happy. We had a great 2 weeks with all our family and friends.
